ANF Mission Statement

The role of the ANF is to ensure each and every newsagent member has easy access to quality information, better services and the tools to achieve a better bottom line.

From a position of strength we are committed to:

  • protecting members interests,
  • a communications philosophy that deals with fact not rumour
  • and a strategy to improve the industry profile at corporate and public level

We are there to work for our members at a national regional and local level.  We promote and protect the common interests of all persons and companies engaged in newsagency in Australia.

We represent members to governments, agencies, publishers and suppliers.   We seek out and implement commercial services for members so that they can maximise returns.

We lift the industry profile through internal and external communications.   We liaise with industry stakeholders on national, regional and local issues.

The Australian Newsagents' Federation is able to work on a number of levels to benefit every individual member newsagent. Through strength and size ANF has the necessary means to achieve outcomes difficult to achieve by a single business.

The strength that this solidarity provides gives each member the benefit of ANF's powerful negotiating position. ANF members receive the benefit of the organisation's long established relationships with governments, publishers, suppliers, regulators and other industry stakeholders.

Mixed messages about the economic outlook for Australia over the next two years can only mean one thing. Continued uncertainty will describe the outlook sparked by the Global Financial Crisis for some time to come. Small business in Australia will not be immune from the obvious economic pressures and decisions made by the Federal Government.

ANF believes there has never been a better time to a part of a strong professional industry lobby group. It has become vital for individual newsagents to gather together under one national body to deal with the many day to day pressures facing the industry.

ANF has embarked on a strategy aimed at improving the value of each individual business by improving the strength and value of the industry. Our goal is to secure the future of newsagencies in Australia.

ANF has extensive measures in place to inform members on the very latest industry news and encourage feedback from members. A Media and Public Relations strategy is also in place to lift the profile of the industry with the general public and business community.

The first benefit in becoming a member of ANF is that you are part of the national lobby group. Other benefits are many and varied ranging from discounts on petrol and other items, access to accredited industry training courses to free advice on industrial relations matters. These benefits can add up to savings of thousands of dollars and are explained in this kit.

We urge you to look at the many ways you can benefit by becoming a member of ANF and I look forward to having you as an ANF member.
